L'OREAL INFALLIBLE 24H FOUNDATION REVIEW

Thursday, 1 September 2016

Hello!

Of course the first thing I would write about after a couple of months no posting would be foundation! As you may know if you have read my blog before, I absolutely love foundations. It's definitely my favorite make up product and I love to try new ones all the time!

Confident Curling and Styling Creme by Become Maya*

Wednesday, 30 March 2016

I was recently contacted by Michelle from BECOME MAYA to try out one of their new products and of course I said yes! As you may know if you've read my blog for a while, I have very thin hair and no volume at all so of course when someone offers you a curling, voluminous and anti-frizz product you're gonna want to try it!

BARRY M SPRING COLOURS

Monday, 28 March 2016

A couple of weeks ago I came to realize I hadn't bought any nail varnishes in over a year, say whaaat! I always seem to forget about nail varnishes either because I have them done and they last ages or because I just use the ones I already have.

HIGH END PERFUME WISHLIST

Thursday, 24 March 2016

If there's one thing I don't spend much money on is perfumes. I admit I am a bit of a cheapskate when it comes to buying high end fragrances so I always make a wish list and hope someone will get them for me for Christmas or my birthday.

MY BEAUTY BUCKET LIST + IN COLLAB WITH SARAH FROM BVE!

Tuesday, 22 March 2016

For this guest post I teamed up with Sarah from BVE and we both came up with a Beauty Bucket List. Now I wanted to do this a little bit different, I didn't want it to be a product wish list, I wanted to be my beauty goals or beauty related things I want to do before I die.

THE 99p FOUNDATION BRUSH

Saturday, 6 February 2016

You might know by now that I'm a sucker for a bargain, therefore I absolutely love eBay. I'm still due to write a post with my eBay beauty finds but for now, I'll talk about this 99p foundation brush.

If you're one of those who think a £1 foundation brush can't be good, you're wrong. I bought this brush a couple of months ago and I love it so much that I now have five of exactly the same one.

This is a dense flat top brush and it's a copy of the Sigma F80. Of course you can't compare it 100% with a £20 brush but trust me, it comes close!

This brush applies my foundation very evenly and smoothly and it blends very well. It super soft and it feels amazing on the skin! It's also very easy to clean and it feels like it's brand new after you've cleaned it. Does it shed? One of my five does, weird right? It could be a manufacturers problem with that specific brush but even then it doesn't shade enough that I can't use it!

Trust me, if you're on a budget and can't afford to get really expensive brushes give this one a go. It comes from China so it takes a couple of weeks to arrive but it's so worth it! I got mine here. I mean, it's less than £1 so what's there to lose?

Let me know if you decide to try this brush or if you already have it!

NEW LOOK MAKE UP

Tuesday, 2 February 2016

With all the hype going on about the new H&M beauty and make up range we have seemed to completely overlooked one of their competitors who in my opinion is just as good or even better. Not many people are aware of New Look PURE Colour Make Up line but in the last few months I have become a very big fan of this line. Here's some of my favorite products I own from New Look.

BAYLIS & HARDING BODY BUTTER

Sunday, 31 January 2016

I have to admit that I am the laziest person on earth when it comes to putting creams on my body. I am forever trying to get into a routine but I just never seem to stick to it and I end up forgetting half of the time. Not only that, but I don't like feeling all sticky after a nice shower so I was super surprised how much I liked this body butter the first time I tried it.

I got the limited edition Baylis & Harding jojoba, silk and almond oil body butter in my stocking last Christmas and I opened it to smell it straight away. I love Baylis and Harding soaps *they all smell amazing* so I was super excited to see what this body butter smelled like! Another thing I suck at is describing smells so I wouldn't trust myself so much to be very accurate with my description but here it goes; I can definitely smell almond *sitting here with the pot half an inch away from my nose* and gingerbread. Have you tried the ginger bread latte from Costa? That is exactly what this smells like and that might be why I love it so much!

Apart from making me smell super yummy, what I love the most about this body butter is that it isn't sticky at all on the skin, it dries within seconds and it leaves my skin feeling extremely smooth and fresh! For someone who doesn't use many body creams, I have been using this one about three or four times a week!

Unfortunately this is a limited edition which sucks because I love it so much! Also, this body butter is 250ml and it's only around £3. I will definitely be getting different body butters from Baylis & Harding!

Have you tried any B&H products? Any body butters? Do you love them as much as I love this one?

BUMBLE & BUMBLE HAIR POWDER

Sunday, 24 January 2016

A few months back I wrote a post about Mane and Tail (don't judge too much, it was my third or four ever post!) and in there I describe my hair as really thin and fragile. Due to my hair being so crap I try to use as little products as possible but sometimes (in special occasions) when I'm all dolled up I like my hair to look more voluminous and healthy too. That's when I use the Bumble and Bumble black hair powder.

FOUNDATION WISHLIST

Friday, 22 January 2016

If you've read my blog for a while now you may have noticed I absolutely love trying new foundations. I don't know why that is, maybe I am forever trying to find the ultimate skin perfection! I already have a few foundations which I absolutely love and I swear by but yet I still find myself wanting to try more and more.

SLEEK LIPSTICKS MINI HAUL

Wednesday, 20 January 2016

I've come to the conclusion that I have a slight obsession with lipsticks. I already have over fifty, however I can't seem to stop buying them.

ZOEVA BRUSHES - ROSE GOLD LUXE EYE BRUSHES

MY ALL TIME FAVORITE BLUSHER

Saturday, 16 January 2016

Hello!
Today I'm here to talk about my all time favorite blusher; Luminoso by Milani. To me, no other blush compares to this one. I have never been a massive fan of blushers until I got Luminoso and to be honest, since then, I haven't felt the need to buy any others because this is literally the only blush I use and I use it all the time!

JANUARY BIRCHBOX

Thursday, 14 January 2016

I'm not gonna lie to you guys, I have a love / hate relationship with Birchbox. I absolutely love getting a box every month, I feel like it's my birthday when it arrives and I'm always super excited to open it and find out what's inside but then I open it and I just go 'oh'.

KAT VON D SHADE + LIGHT CONTOUR PALETTE

Tuesday, 12 January 2016

The Kat Von D contour palette has also been on my wish list for a long time now, since it came out! I've always been a fan of hers so when I found out she was coming out with a make up line I was so happy I even jumped around a little!

STILA LIQUID LIPSTICKS

Wednesday, 6 January 2016

First of all I have to apologize for the lack of posts in the last couple of weeks but as you may understand, it has been hectic! Christmas week was super busy and I traveled home to Barcelona for New Years and I only just come back. It has been a nice little break but now I'm back and I have so many ideas for the blog that I can't wait to get them started!

Today I am going to be talking about these three amazing liquid lipsticks from Stila.
This gift set is called 'Eternal Love Set', it comes with three shades and they are exactly half size of the regular liquid lipsticks so perfect for travelling! Let me tell you about the shades:

Baci - Baci looks very nude when you see it in the tub but it's actually a lot darker once you put it on. It dries almost like a dark grey/mauve and it's definitely my favorite of the package. I have worn it so much since I got it as it's the perfect shade for every day!

Beso - Beso is the classic holiday red. Very bright red and I think it will be perfect for summer time as it has a slight orange undertone so it will look amazing with a tanned face/body!

Ricco - Ricco is perfect for this time of the year. It's a dark plum/mauve so amazing if you want to get the vampy look!

For those who haven't tried any of the Stila Liquid Lipsticks, the formula is exactly the same as the full size product. It's super creamy, it glides against the lips and it doesn't take too long to dry at all.
They're all super matte (which I love!) but they don't feel dry at all on the lips. There isn't stickiness either and they last all day (darker shades might need reapplying after meals/drinks).

Overall I think these liquid lipsticks are amazing, I haven't tried all the other brands out there but I think this would be a very big contender as they are honestly great! This set cost £16 which is super affordable I think considering you get three amazing products for pretty much the same price as it would cost for just the one full sized one.

Have you tried the Stila Liquid Lipsticks? What are you favorite liquid lipsticks out there?

STILA ILLUMINATING LIQUID FOUNDATION REVIEW

Sunday, 27 December 2015

Here I am with another foundation review. I swear I am trying really hard to stop buying foundations but I just can't help it, I seem to have an obsession with them! So yeh, this time I decided to go for Stila's Illuminating Liquid Foundation. I recently went to a make up outlet and I saw that this foundation, normally £25 was reduced to £5.99 so I had to get it as it was such a good bargain!

'Picture perfect skin is now a reality', ' Sheer to medium coverage that hides flaws and imperfections', 'Luminous and airbrush look' and 'Silky semi-matte finish' is how Stila describes this foundation.

If you know me or have read previous post you might know that I love trying out new foundations but this time I was a little bit disappointed.
With the price tag of £25 I honestly expected a little bit more when it comes to coverage and lasting. I find this foundation a little bit hard to blend and you have to do it really fast as it dries quite quick. I also don't like the smell, you can definitely smell the chemicals in it.
At first it feels very sticky on your skin but after a few minutes it settles and it feels quite light. I would say this is a light to medium coverage as it didn't hide my spots and it doesn't last all day at all. As for the 'illuminating', with that name I thought it would give my skin a healthy glow but it didn't at all, in fact I found it quite dull on my skin.

I guess I could say that this foundation is 'ok' on a good skin day when you have to leave the house for a couple of hours but that's it.

Overall, I am not impressed at all and if I had paid the full amount I would've been very upset. I do not think this foundation is worth that amount of money and if I'm being honest, I don't even think I'd buy again for £5.99 either! The only good thing about this foundation is the packaging, I love the matte glass bottle!

Have you tried this foundation? Did it work for you?

PARTY POPPERS

Wednesday, 16 December 2015

I knew my husband Jac truly loves me when he came home with the Benefit's Party Poppers Advent Calendar. I've never liked chocolate so I haven't really had an advent calendar for years so you can imagine my excitement when he handed me that box. He seriously got himself some brownie points there.

I have to say it was super hard to open one every day and a few times I was so tempted to just open every tiny box all in one go but I didn't, I opened one by one for 12 days. Now that there isn't any more to discover (and that makes me very, very sad) I thought it'd be cool to share what I got in my advent calendar. I haven't had the chance to try all the products yet so I'll only describe the ones I've tested so far and I shall write another post once I've used them all.

Here's what I got in my Benefit's advent calendar:
  • the POREfessional PRO balm
  • BADgal lash volumizing mascara
  • lollitint poppy pink lip & cheek stain
  • ooh la lift undereye brightener
  • they’re real! lengthening mascara
  • they’re real! remover
  • rockateur famously proactive face powder
  • high beam complexion enhancer
  • total moisture facial cream
  • hoola ultra plush lip gloss
  • sugarbomb ultra plush lip gloss
  • watt’s up! soft-focus highlighter

So far I've been using the porefessional primer (which is amazing to cover my enormous pores), the badgal lash mascara and the what's up highlighter. I can say that I love them all so far and I cannot wait to try all the other products properly!

Benefit is not what I'd call cheap (not the most expensive either, but definitely not cheap) so I'm always very scared to pay £20 for a mascara (for example) just in case I don't end up liking it! I think this was perfect for me as I hadn't really tried many Benefit products so the little testers are great to try and then decide whether you want the full sized option.

Did you get a beauty calendar this year too? What did you get in yours? Have you tried any of these products? If so, which ones do you love or hate the most?

ALL ABOUT THE DARK NUDES

Friday, 11 December 2015

A few years ago there was no way you would have seen me leaving the house wearing a nude lipstick. I am not lying, I couldn't go anywhere without a red or vampy lip. A lot has changed since then and I have seemed to tone it all down slightly and I seem to concentrate more on my eyes now and for those times when I do a darker eye I always complement them with a nude lip.

Here I've selected a few nudes that I love for when I have an elaborate eye or for when I'm not fancying a high maintenance lip (aka, lazy days). Some of these don't look too nude but once you applying them to your lips they are. Even tho I now wear nudes they still have to have some colour for me to be happy with it and all of these do. From pink base to brown, I love them all!

Starting from the left, this is probably the lightest one I have and it's the L'Oreal Color Riche JLO Nude. This definitely has a pink base and it looks very soft and delicate. I must admit is not my favorite as I feel a bit 'naked' without much colour on my lips but for those who love the 'nude' look will love this one.

Next up is my favorite of them all. It's the New Look Lipstick Apricot. Apricot has more of an orange undertone and it looks great when you have a very dark eye shadow on because it balances it out perfectly. Even tho it's a nude colour you can still tell that you're wearing lipstick, which is exactly what I want from a nude.

The Rimmel Coffee Shimmer looks super dark on my hand but once it's on your lips it's actually a very soft brown. This one I find I need to keep re-applying it every couple of hours.

Next is another on my favorites is the L'Oreal Erotique (Posted about it here). Even tho when I did the Battle of The Lipstick against Revlon Minsk that one won, I still think that Erotique is out of this world. It looks so natural and it's perfect for an everyday look.

And last but not least, Maybelline Caramel Cream. Again, like Coffee Shimmer, this looks darker on my hand than it does on my lips. Caramel Cream has a brown/orange undertone and it's not as shimmery as CS. I really like this one as it has a semi-matte finish which I love and it stays on for a good few hours.

So here's some of my 'dark nudes'. Do you have any of these? What are your favorite ones?
