DIORSKIN FOREVER FOUNDATION FIRST IMPRESSIONS/REVIEW

Thursday 4 February 2016

Last week I attended another Dior event at my local Debenhams. I absolutely love Dior events, they really do treat bloggers like VIP's with champagne and pretty wristbands! This event was about the new spring collection and the new foundation Diorskin Forever.

As you may know by now, I am a foundation junkie so of course I couldn't resist getting it! This foundation was actually on my latest foundation wishlist (here).

I have been wearing it every day since Friday to make sure I get a good feel for it before reviewing it and I think I know how it works on me now.
I've applied this foundation with a beauty blender and with a flat top kabuki brush and I 100% prefer it with the brush (I am not the biggest beauty blender fan anyway).

Let's start with the packaging. Of course we couldn't expect anything less from Christian Dior, I mean, it just radiates glamour doesn't it? I love that frosted packaging and guys, it comes with a pump! I was so surprised because most high end foundations don't come with a pump so this was definitely a thumbs up for me!

Now to the really important bits, is it flawless? Is it worth the £33? This isn't a cheap foundation at all so I was expecting great things.

The first day I tried it without any primer as I wanted to know how it works by itself first of all. It was OK. It definitely covered most of my imperfections and it did last pretty much all day, however it did stick to the dry patches in between my brows and to the fine lines around my mouth area.

Next I tried it with the Nivea Men Post Shave Balm which I use as a primer (check this out), and it worked slightly better with my fine lines but I still wanted more 'perfection' so the next day I put the balm on and I added the Benefits Porefessional.  I applied it to my dry patches in between my brows, around my nose and my fine lines. It did work so much better! So my advise is, if you have dry patches make sure they're very moisturized and primed.

This foundation feels a little bit sticky when you first apply it (although the formula is super thin!) but it does disappear within seconds. I personally think Forever looks better as the day goes on. At first you can see the yellow base but once all your make up is done it really looks flawless.

Not only it looks flawless but it feels flawless too, it doesn't feel like you're wearing any foundation at all and it's good for sensitive skin as it hasn't caused me to break out, which I normally do when trying new products on my face!

Longwear 16-hour* perfection from morning to night. A luminous matte finish, flawless correction and exceptional comfort, in all conditions. Day after day, the skin s texture appears refined by the new formula enriched with the Poreless Effect skincare essence. With its non-oily, melt-away texture, the ultra-fusional, sensory Diorskin Forever fluid foundation delivers perfectly even correction.

Do I agree? Yes. It is definitely long lasting. I have been wearing it for 12h shifts and it has looked exactly the same at the end of the day! It does have a matte finish without being dull and it definitely covers my imperfections (redness, small spots and scars).

Overall I am very impressed with this foundation, it is quite expensive so I am going to be careful and not use it every day but if you're into high end foundations Diorskin Forever is a must-have!

Have you tried any Dior foundations? Have you tried Diorskin Forever? What's your favorite high end foundation?

  7. This foundation sounds so so lovely! A bit put off that you say it sticks to dry patches as I can suffer with dry skin and don't really like using a primer, but maybe if I find a primer that works for me this foundation will be a good investment!! Lovely post
