If you've been reading my blog for a while you might have noticed the lack of post lately. For the last couple of weeks my post have gone from my regular 3-4 a week to a one or two and that's because for a little while I lost my motivation. Work got in the way (working different shifts every week doesn't help!) and it has been hard to find the time to sit down and write and the only time I was able to, BANG, nothing there.
I am sure this has happened to all of us at some point during our blogging 'career' so I wanted to share with you what I do to get back on track when I'm not feeling motivated.
Take a break
If blogging is your hobby and not your full time job it's OK to take a break. Don't stress too much about your blog, being away from the blogging world for a few days won't hurt anyone, in fact, it can help you get the inspiration that you need so when you come back you're fully re-charged and with plenty of ideas.
Visit other blogs
I find this helps me so much to get inspired, I read all your beautiful blogs and it makes me want to write too.
Interact with other bloggers
You don't know what to write about? Do a poll on Twitter, speak to your readers, ask them questions, what would they like to see next (only write about things you want to write and you feel comfortable with), etc.
Write stuff down
Sometimes the little bulb in my head will turn on at the most random times. I always make sure I write it down (or on my phone) so when I get home I can sit down and write about that amazing idea I had earlier on. If I don't write it down I might forget it!
Remind yourself why you love blogging
Why did you start and where do you want to go? Remind yourself what is it about blogging that you love so much and take a step back and look at what you've achieved and done so far. It'll make you feel proud of yourself (and your blog) and it'll bring back the motivation.
After a couple of weeks of not being very organised and not having time I feel like I am now back on track and I have plenty of post scheduled.
What are your tips to keep yourself motivated? Do you think this tips were helpful?
Oh gosh I've been there! Sometimes I just get so caught up that I lose my train of thought! Reminding myself why I love blogging is definitely how I kick start my editorials, that and getting a bit more involved in the community.

I find brainstorming ideas down in a notebook/piece of paper is so helpful as then you can look back to it and it'll have loads of post ideas on it!

Great tips, lovely! I think I am in this kind of moment at the moment so I am spending my time sorting stuff out with my social media etc rather than posting very often. x

This is a really lovely post! And although I've only just started (so hopefully haven't lost my motivation yet), it's so useful to read tips on how to overcome it when I do. Thank-you for sharing!!!
