KAT VON D SHADE + LIGHT CONTOUR PALETTE

Tuesday 12 January 2016

The Kat Von D contour palette has also been on my wish list for a long time now, since it came out! I've always been a fan of hers so when I found out she was coming out with a make up line I was so happy I even jumped around a little!

Let me start with a little spoiler: I love this palette. You just have to look at the package to know that it's a good palette. Yes, it's cardboard but it's very heavy and sturdy. It also comes with a massive mirror inside which is awesome, I'm a sucker for palettes with mirrors.

All shades are super pigmented and a little goes a long way so be careful when you apply it! They're also very fine and buttery and they blend like a dream.

Shade and Light Contour Palette by Kat Von D includes three shade powders: Sombre (taupe), Shadowplay (soft brown) and Subconscious (deep brown) and three light powders: Lucid (pinkish nude), Lyric (yellow beige) and Levitation (soft peach).

I believe this palette could be suitable for all skin tones but I don't think you can use all the shades unfortunately. I use Sombre for a sharp contour and Shadowplay for more of an every day soft bronze but I haven't used Subconscious or Levitation as they're both too dark for my skin however, I think I could make use of them as eye shadows!

As much as I love this contour palette, I have found a couple of cons that I'm going to share with you. The first one is that the names are on the back, I don't know about you but I like having them right next to the colour so I can memorize them better. I feel like turning the palette constantly to check the names is a bit annoying. There's also a lot of fall out which is a bummer because it feels like I'm wasting a lot of product!

Overall, this is a great palette and it's worth every penny. Like I said, I use it every day and it always looks amazing!

What do you think about this palette? Have you tried this or any other Kat Von D products? Let me know your thoughts!

  1. I know what you mean about the names on the back! Hate having to keep closing and turning them over to check what each one is called! Looks like such an amazing palette though!
