URBAN DECAY - GWEN STEFANI EYE PALETTE REVIEW

Monday, 7 December 2015

Seriously, have you ever seen such perfection? This palette is what I'd call heavenly. I literally love everything about it, the shades, the packaging, the names...

Let's start with the packaging. I am a very big fan of gold monochrome and so when I saw this palette for the first time online I knew I would like it regardless of what was inside. It's literally so beautiful I could die. This palette is also quite heavy and you can recognize the quality of it just by looking at it. Another thing I love about it is that right in the bottom right corner on the mirror there's a quote: 'Magic's in the Make Up', which I completely agree with.

There is a variety of cool, warm, shimmery, matte and metallic shades and most of them are super pigmented. The only one I didn't find it has much pigment is Harajuku shade and Danger works better with a wet brush. As for the rest, they're all amazing! One thing I'd recommend is, if you're going to use this palette make sure you do your eyes before you put any foundation on as there will be traces of eye shadow all over your cheeks!

I have always loved Gwen Stefani's style. I love the whole 90's punk/grunge style and this palette represents that era perfectly. Urban Decay and Gwen Stefani have also come out with a range of lipsticks that will come out early next year and after this palette, I really cannot wait to see the lipsticks!

Overall, this palette is perfect for every day due to the good amount of neutrals that it offers but it's also great for a more intense look with the blue (Danger) and the gold (1987). I also must say, the black shade (blackout) is super black, which is awesome as you don't have to pack up much product like you normally have to do if you want a very black lid!

A couple of days ago I felt like the luckiest girl on earth when I got invited to a blogger event at the Urban Decay counter at John Lewis in Cardiff. Both Kate and Zandra were amazing, super friendly and helpful. I had my make up done by Zandra and I can't thank her enough for making my eyes look so stunning! In this occasion Zandra used mainly 'Danger', 'Serious' and 'Plum' to make my eyes look super intense. Of course she also used some of the transition shades.

I honestly have so much love for this palette and I can't wait to play around with it every day for the next few months! I'm thinking I might do a post with a few different looks that you can create with this palette, what do you think?

4 EYE SHADOW PALETTES I REALLY WANT

Tuesday, 1 December 2015

Up until a couple of years ago all I bought was lipstick, now it looks like my obsession has turned to eye shadows. I already have way too many palettes and most of of them are very similar shades that the ones above. I know I should be using those more instead of thinking about getting new ones but hey, I'm a girl, I like to shop. These four palettes I've wanted for a while and I will end up getting them all eventually. Here's my eye shadow palettes wish list:

The Balm - Balm Jovi

I must say that the main reason why I want this palette is because my all time favorite band is Bon Jovi and it would be rude not to get it. I don't actually have any eye products from the Balm so it would be great to try them out!

Urban Decay - Gwen Stefani

It's no lie that UD eyes shadows quality is awesome and when I saw the colours on this palette I just fell in love and the packaging is beautiful!

Morphe - 35P Plums

This palette is literally perfection. All my favorite shades in one palette, especially the left side of the palette as I love all the browns and berry tones!

Tarte - Tartelette

I've been wanting to get this palette since my favorite girl Kathleen Lights did a tutorial using it. The shades are gorgeous!

Do you have any of these? Which one do you like most? If you have more than one, which one would you recommend?

ONE BRAND ONLY - MAKE UP REVOLUTION PALETTES

Wednesday, 21 October 2015

When it comes to Make Up Revolution I must admit I'm a bit of a hoarder. What can I say? They are  cheap and they're good quality so I can't really say no when I walk past Superdrug... So it's no surprise that I've managed to accumulate a few of them *and a lot more that I still want*.

I thought it would be a good idea to share with you guys all the palettes I own from MUR and briefly comment what I like and don't like about them.

I'm going to start with the face palettes.

Ultra Cover and Concealer Palette Light - As you can see I only use a couple of the shades (the lightest ones). I don't use them on my under eyes as I feel like they crease quite a lot after a while, so I use it for my brow bones and around my lips to clean any unwanted lipstick. It's due to own preference, I prefer more 'liquidy' concealers rather than creamy like this.

Ultra Blush and Contour Palette Sugar and Spice - (top left) This colours are super pretty, but I find myself only using it in the summer months as they're a bit too pink for me. You have to be very careful when using this are they're mega pigmented!

Ultra Blush and Contour Palette Hot Spice - (top right) Now this one I love! The colours are a lot softer and natural. I use this one daily, especially the one in the top left corner. Isn't it pretty?

Iconic 3 - (left - UD Naked 3 dupe) Since I've had this one I've barely touched my Naked Palette 3 much as it's pretty much the same! Sure the Urban Decay one is more pigmented but it's also five times more expensive. I really love this palette, the lighter colours I find I have to pack on a lot of product and maybe go over twice, but that doesn't really bother me much, not for £4.

Essential Mattes - Now this one I thought I was going to love, as I'm a big fan of matte eyeshadow, however, it's not my favorite. I don't seem to want to reach for it very often and I don't really know why. I guess they're not as pigmented as I expected.

Iconic Pro 2 - I love the colours on this one. There a mix of matte and shimmery shades and they all complement each other very well. I love the silver one and the purple on the bottom right corner.

Salvation Palette Unicorns Unite - This is the newest one I have. The colours are so vibrant and amazing I couldn't refuse buying it. I use the greens in the bottom middle quite a lot!

Salvation Palette Run Boy Run - This one is without a doubt my favorite palette of all the ones I own by MUR. I use it very, very often. It's super pigmented and it does stay on all day. I love the reddish colour and the black one. I use the bottom three matte ones as transition shades all the time!

I Heart Make Up Fast Love - I got this palette because I love all the colours but I was a bit disappointed as it's definitely not as good as all the others, not as pigmented.

I Heart Make Up N1 - I don't think they do this palette anymore *at least I can't find it on their online store* which is a shame because I really like it. The highlighted in the bottom right corner is amazing, and the dark colours like the black and dark purples are amazing!

So these are all the MUR Palettes that I have so far. Some of them have a lot of similar colours and I barely use but I just like having them all and if I could I would have every single palette they've ever made *getting there slowly*!

Do you have any of these? Do you like MUR as much as I do? Let me know what you think if you have any of these! :)
